The accolades surrounding the Forester speak volumes, but the real proof is when you talk to a Forester owner. They love it! The 2016 Subaru Forester has only a few minor changes from 2015, including a few new safety, security, and infotainment features. The vehicle is already a IIHS Top Safety Pick Plus, but Subaru continues to raise the bar on making safety a primary goal. This is a compact utility vehicle, with the capabilities of a crossover, a wagon-like practicality, the deft handling of a car, and off-road, all-weather capability. Applause!
This is the third year of this generation Forester, as Subaru typically has a five year production cycle. As such, there are no major design changes to this year's Forester in terms of specs or dimensions. Here are some of the adjustments or upgrades that have been made for 2016:
- Subaru has upgraded the Starlink program with new AT&T 4G LTE capability. Sirius XM Connected Vehicle Services include stolen vehicle recovery, lock/unlock via smartphone, and monthly vehicle health reports.
- Responsive foglights augment the EyeSight system, with the left or right light illuminating automatically on certain turns to widen the night view.
- The center console infotainment system is now seamlessly integrated into the dashboard.
