Patriot Subaru, Saco, working in conjunction with the national Subaru Loves To Help initiative, purchased over 300 pairs of children's shoes and socks, and brought them to Family Forward Maine in Biddeford for a special afternoon of distribution.
As families with kids came in, many of them New Mainers, our Patriot Subaru associates greeted everyone with a big smile, and then helped measure each child for a shoe size. The next stop was the shoe room, where the kids picked out one of the bright fun colors and tried on the shoes for a proper fit. Big smiles! The entire family was treated to some snacks and pizza before departing - it was a great time!
It was wonderful to see both the happiness as well as appreciation for the shoes, and seeing first hand how important the Families Forward Maine program is to this community. The organization strives to help Mainers build a better future through access to training and education and community resources. Neighbors helping neighbors, right in line with our goals at Patriot Subaru, and the Subaru Love Promise, committed to helping improve lives in cities and towns where we live and work.
