Patriot Subaru Earth Day Celebration Event: April 22-23, 2022

Patriot Subaru in Saco is proud to be an eco-friendly store
everyday. We reduce energy spend, we recycle in all departments, and we
reuse or repurpose all applicable items. We are a zero-landfill
facility, and a Certified Subaru Eco-Friendly store.
Each year, Patriot Subaru in Saco and North Attleboro both celebrate Earth Day with a special event. Establishing a window of time leading up to Earth Day, Patriot sets aside a financial donation for every vehicle sold during the designated frame. The money raised goes to the planting of shade trees in southern Maine. Over the past 8 years the program has earned over $7000 between the two stores, enough to plant approximately 25 trees.
In Maine, money
has been divided equally between the Saco, Maine Parks and Recreation
Department, and the Portland, Maine Parks and Recreation Department.

In Portland, four trees were
planted in Payson Park, two in the Longfellow Arboretum and two in the
regular park area. In Saco, 2 American Elms were planted the
reforestation area of Cleveland Street. Here is a note from Joe Hirsch,
Saco Parks and Rec: "We
used those monies to purchase 2 very nice hybrid American Elms in our
reforestation of Cleveland Street where we had to remove all the mature
trees due to the wrong tree being used in the esplanade area. Unless we
have a grant or in this case a donation we rarely are able to plant
trees of this quality on our streets. They are the gateway trees to that
street, one being located on either end. They look great and by the way
thanks again for the donation. It helped us complete the project
without totally killing our budget as the reforestation of the street
came upon us and was not budgeted. Your companies contributions helped
greatly. Thank you."
