Patriot Subaru Newsletter December 2015
So began the holiday fun this year! On December 5th, the Saco team spent their evening at the Sable Oaks Marriott in South Portland celebrating the end of the year and the start of the holiday season. Our fearless leader, Adam Arens, gave an inspiring speech of our accomplishments both as a team and individuals, along with the expectations that next year we will do even better. Followed by a smorgasbord of delicious food and Model Airplane serenading the team into the late hours of the night, fun was had by all who attended. On the Sunday following, December 6th, N. Attleboro's party was held at Luciano's!

SADD Visits North Attleboro
On November 21st, Students Against Destructive Decisions visited our N. Attleboro location for an informative and fun day! They were well represented with folks from the head office, including Dawn Teixeira/Pres-CEO, and Rick Birt/Director, plus 4 students including Bryan Delaney/SADD National Student of the Year.
The "Fatal Vision" goggles simulated the effects of being impaired from drinking, and the obvious dangers of getting behind the wheel of a car. Students Against Destructive Decisions is an important organization providing direction and council to our young men and women to help make good choices. SADD strives to save lives by empowering teens to stand strong against underage drinking, impaired or buzzed driving, drug use, or other negative choices.

Saturday December 5th, the folks from Preble Street hosted a "short- sleeve optional" BBQ at our Saco store. The weather was very accommodating, and we grilled around 160 hamburgers and hot dogs for our associates, customers, and friends. Here we are, raising money through our Share The Love program for their needs to feed those who are less fortunate, and they're here feeding us! Thank you Preble Street! Our Share The Love program raised $40,000 for them last year, and we aim to do even more for them this year.
** We are also currently filling a Forester with a Food Drive for Preble Street, after our successful drive for Saco Food Pantry! Make sure to drop off any non-perishables! **

Our road crew also set up over at the Animal Refuge League for their annual Holiday Open House on Saturday December 5th. Thanks to Dan Walker, his newlywed wife Sue, and daughter Lela, who teamed up with John Boucher, to welcome donors who brought pet food to "Stuff A Subaru". How much did we manage to stuff in? 635 pounds of pet food! Plus, bedding and blankets, dog bowls, and other goodies. Dan was active on his Facebook page encouraging people he knew to contribute, and sure enough a volume of goods came in through his connections with Beech Ridge Motor Speedway. Way to go Dan! Coast 93.1 FM was also there, and talked up Patriot Subaru's presence at the event. It was a great time and a great success for the ARLGP!

Meanwhile, our Saco location rocked the house with a total of EIGHT boxes filled to the tippy-top with lots of toys and goodies for the kiddos this holiday season! With the help of surrounding businesses in the Saco area, the Toys For Tots Drive was a success!

After earning #6 North America in the Automotive News "Best Dealerships To Work For" program, Automotive News reached out to Adam Arens to talk about how Patriot gives back to the community and to associates. They produced a video that aired on their AN channel! If you go to the link below you can watch the video! It is definitely worth the watch! Here at Patriot Subaru, we call it "Associate Directed Giving."

Each associate who has been with Patriot for over a year can request a charity/non-profit be the recipient of financial support. Adam made great points about how we do things differently here at Patriot Subaru; "Charity is charity, marketing is marketing and we don't mix the two." It is important to remember that during this holiday season it is not about giving just for the sake of the recognition one may receive for doing so, but more for the fact to help others, our community, and our families in their time of need.
Way to go everyone on a fantastic year! Next year we will do even better! Saco's new goal for the year of 2106 will be set at 2700 for the year, and North Attleboro's goal will be 2016! With team work and the ability to make ourselves better and 2016 our best year so far! Be proud for what you all have accomplished and set yourself up for better opportunities and goals for this new year.

With that being said, 2015 is quickly coming to a close! Be safe and enjoy the holidays and celebrate the going of 2015 with family, friends, and everyone else who surrounds you daily! Let us be excited for the past opportunities and excited for the new ones!
