Patriot Subaru Earns The Subaru Love Promise Award

Patriot Riders of America - Maine Chapter One is a non-profit organization helping veterans, active duty men and women, first responders, their families and communities. Every year the chapter holds events to raise money and awareness for the organization allowing them to continue providing many forms of assistance. Aside from the kinship in name, Patriot Riders Maine Chapter One and Patriot Subaru have formed a strong bond, working together on different levels and on various events. It started with one of the Patriot Subaru technicians, Scott Lambert, who is also a member of the Patriot Riders. Patriot Riders were involved with the Wreaths Across America program, fundraising to purchase wreaths to place on every stone in the veteran's cemeteries in Springvale, ME. Scott approached Adam Arens, Patriot Subaru owner, and explained the goal. In a strong show of support, Patriot Subaru asked what was needed, and donated the funds to honor and respect every fallen hero in the cemetery. Since that time, Patriot Riders and Patriot Subaru have teamed up to co-execute toy drives for Toys for Tots. This past year the combination resulted in nearly 4X the amount of toys from the previ- ous year. In addition, the two groups have held blood drives with the Red Cross, with over 30 pints of blood collected. Last, food drives are held to support 50 families of disabled veterans and collected over $300. Patriot Subaru is proud to partner with Patriot Riders of Maine.

A NOTE FROM THE DESK OF DON MCEWEN, GENERAL MANAGER, OF PATRIOT SUBARU AT NORTH ATTLEBORO

Winter is officially here and Mother Nature is not being so nice to us! I am reluctant to complain about snowfall in a note that will be read by our friends in Saco who get 30 more inches per year than us but enough is enough! With the blizzard and the subsequent storm N. Attleboro has already eclipsed it's average annual snowfall. The upside is that those of us that had not experienced it before were amazed at how easy it was to clear a lot full of Subaru's, no pushing and no shovels, nice.

The North Attleboro store finished first in our District in January which is a good start but of course we would have liked to have sold a lot more cars. Jim Kelley took salesperson of the month honors with 17 sales for the month, great job considering Jim is new to the business and has been working his referrals. The Service department is growing its customer base at a steady rate and our Service Manager Joe Dio made trips to a local Tech school and North Attleboro High School making new friends and Patriot Subaru fans, thanks Joe. Great job Pats and lets crush it in February!

WE NEED YOUR HELP!

You may recall a Forester packed FULL of canned goods, non perishable items, and more being parked in the showroom back in December for our "Share the Love" event that we put on with the help of the Preble Street. Well, we are at it again! It is our goal to fill another Forester and collect even more goods this month to give to the Saco Food Pantry. The event will take place beginning Thursday, January 29th through Thursday, February 12th. Please consider dropping an item or two off to help make a difference in those peoples lives who are less fortunate than we.

"To show why the donation you make to the Saco Food Pantry of for that matter any food pantry or meals pro- gram is helpful, we submit these figures for consideration. In the calendar year 2014, we helped 2,482 families and when their family members are added that number be- comes 5,941 people. Based on our operating rule of thumb of twelve meals, to be fixed at home, for every member in a given household once a month that total was 71,292."        - The Food Pantry Board and Volunteers

Please consider dropping an item (or two) off to help make a difference in those peoples lives who are less fortunate than we.  Thank you in advance for your donations!

Patriot Subaru Dog Adoption:

On Saturday, January 24th, Patriot Subaru of Saco hosted yet another dog adoption day! Patriot Subaru of North Attleboro also got in on the fun and hosted their first annual dog adoption day partnered with Last Hope K9 Rescue. The North Attleboro store had 3 dogs go home with their new adoptive families and 9 more going through the adoption process. The Saco store partnered with Maine Lab Rescue finding homes for 11 dogs- every dog that came to Patriot Subaru looking for their forever home found just that! Patriot Subaru paid the first $100 in adop- tion fees for each pup. Our own Mike MacDonald and his wife, Jen, were one of the many families who adopted. Congratulations on your new fur baby, Mike and Jen! Lucy looks like she has settled in nicely in her new home!  If you and your family are considering adopting a dog, please con- sider Maine Lab Rescue or Last Hope K9 Rescue.

If you have any interesting news, please feel free to email Megan Charland with the details! We would like to share in the well being of our employees and our company. So don't be shy, and let us know what is going on!
